National Nursing Home Week: THE OLYMPICS ARE HERE!
Our opening ceremonies took place on Monday, May 13th, 2013 with the procession of torches. Led by one of our residents carrying the American Flag, each unit's team chose one resident to represent them by carrying their torch to the main event. One by one, each team member placed their torch in the large "urn" and those torches will continue to "burn" throughout the week until our closing ceremonies. Our first event of the week was the 100 YARN dash wherein participants wrapped a length of yarn around a stick as quickly as possible. This event was timed and our winner managed to wrap their yarn in slightly over 45 seconds! Stay tuned for pictures and more news from this week's epic events!
